7 Step Entrepreneurs Guide for building a successful Digital Marketing strategy

Are you enjoying a South Pacific sunset? Perhaps a Caribbean twilight? Dusk in the Coral Sea. If not, your journey as an Entrepreneur did not start yet. For you to be a successful Entrepreneur you need to build solid systems and learn how to automate them. Here in this blog I would like to present 7 step guideline that will help Entrepreneur with their digital marketing. Let the jaunt begin!

Step 1: Create Buyer Persona

For an effective digital marketing strategy– be it online or offline – you need to figure out what your target market is. The most successful digital marketing campaigns are based upon clear understanding of the buyer’s persona.

Most of the business schools allow their students to carry out this exercise early in their career. Which is a good sign of a knowledgeable business school. Create a buyer persona with real facts, figures and interviewing lot of customers.

To get more accurate results you need to have mix pool of customers which include people of different ages, sex and contacts that are outside your contact list.

But the real question should be what kind of information you need to create the visual buyers persona. Whether your customer is B2B or B2C here are some points on which you need to make your buyer persona.

Quantitate data

Location: What is the location of your target market? This is determine their cultural norms and you can then set your marketing strategy based on that.
Age: What age bracket your target market belong?
Income: What is the income they are earning?
Job title: Normally this doesn’t effect much but it is good to keep an eye on it.

Qualitative date

Goals:What are the goals & aspirations of the target market?
Challenges:What challenges are the target market facing while purchasing online?
Hobbies: What are the hobbies (you can target it in your Facebook ad campaign) of your target market?
Priorities:What is the priority when it comes to buying stuff for themselves or for the family?

Take this information seriously & develop your marketing strategy based upon this concrete data.

Step 2: Identify goals & tools you will be using

Aim of every marketing goal you make is to meet the fundamental business objective you want to achieve. For instance, if your business goal is to increase sales by 25%, then your marketing goals need to be to generate 50% more leads on your website that will increase your overall business and you will meet your goal.

Whatever your goal is, you need to measure it with accurate tools. Make sure to use tools that customers are speaking about in the market. Check your competitors or ask someone from the digital marketing agency what are they using and use that.

Step 3: Analyze your digital marketing tools

They say keep an eye on your competitor but do not copy them. Same practice goes when planning a digital marketing strategy. When you are starting out see the available tools in the market and look into the bigger picture on what tools can benefit in your region.

Now day’s organizations are using both paid and free tools. What differentiates one company from another is how well they are using the tools. Free tools will give you benefit to an extent but it is for you to decide when to use paid tools.

Step 4) Inspect & execute what works best for you

No matter what people think about you, what matters is what you make them feel about your brand. Starting from your ‘About Us’ page, your product deceptions, blog posts, infographics, ebooks and all the content present on your website is a representation of your brand. Content helps convert leads. Whatever your mission, goals, aspirations are, make sure you give your clients full transparency. Give the content in the manner that customers can relate to your brand personality.

Too much content is also an attention killer. What you need is to give enough content that builds a positive perception of your brand in the eyes of the customer.

Step 5: Embrace the power of social media

No doubt social media is one the most efficient medium of communication. Brands are using it and for some they are misusing it for their advantage. But, in either case they are channeling the power of social media. It is a perfect time to start your social media with a bang and rock the boat with your dazzling ideas.

The thing is, it is not advisable to focus on all the mediums just because your competitor is doing the same. Best approach is to take one medium and outsmart your competitor with it. Doing one thing again and again will surely streamline your focus on one thing and when this happens it will be impossible for your customers to cope up.

Step 6: Create unified customer experience

How you deal with your customer is the way customer will take your word out in them market. Apart from engaging content you need to find a way that will engage with your customers in the most efficient.

The survey suggests that 68% of the customers do not complain of a service bad done, instead they switch the service without telling the company.

A good to stay on top of customer service game is to take feedback from customers on regular bases. In this way you will know what customers want & how you can improve your service in accordance to them.

Step 7: Bring it all together

Now comes the brining all together part. Here you will conclude your planning, research and wait for the results. Once the results start appearing you will have two choices. Either to live with t hose results, or to improve on those results. I bet you choose the later one.

Document everything you are willing to implement and give targeted goals to each task. Now, follow up with those tasks and ensure that things get done on time.
